How about a little randomness to finish off the weekend? I feel like sharing a little bit of the excitement that has been going on around the Torres house:)
In honor of Earth Day, Mr. Torres and I went to Lowe’s and picked out some plants to put in our courtyard.
A chocolate basil plant…
A heat-loving tomato plant (that was looking a little wilted by the time we made it home)…
And six beautiful vinca plants!
Also in the news, we MAY have found a house. It’s a foreclosure property that is much bigger than we will probably ever need, but it has a wonderful layout for entertaining and the location is absolutely perfect. If we decide to make a bid, it has to be done by Friday and the property will be awarded on Saturday…I’ll keep you posted:)
Despite what happens, Mr. Torres and I aren’t worried. We have no doubts that God is leading us to the perfect house. Maybe it’s this one, maybe it’s not.
Plus, we had Asian food on Friday night and this was Mr. Torres’ fortune…
Coincidence? I think not.
However, in full disclosure, I think I should reveal my fortune, as well…
Maybe it’s referring to the house I’m going to fall in love with?!?
I’ve been working on sprucing up our living room and adding a bit more color to the mostly neutral space. This morning, I spent some time recovering some of our pillows and was pretty happy with the results. I still have quite a bit to learn when it comes to sewing, but as long as no one inspects my seams, I’m good:)

Aaaand, just because this is a train of thought post, here are some more pictures of the living room.
You’ll have to excuse the super-short curtains. I purchased a variety of pre-made curtains with the hope of choosing a type of fabric. It kind of worked- I know I don’t want white curtains now:)
One last picture that I had to beg Mr. Torres to let me take. We attended a silent auction fundraiser on Saturday and came home with a basket full of homemade goodies including two scarf and headband sets. You can tell exactly how excited Mr. Torres is to be modeling our winnings:) What a stinkpot!

Chocolate Basil? Hmmm…. I’m intrigued.
I had good luck with growing basil last summer, so thought I’d try again. When I saw the chocolate variety, I knew I had to get it! Now I just have to find some unique way to cook w/ it:)
Hahaha that picture in the scarves is hilarious! He looks about as happy as my hubby is when I ask him to take a million pictures!
