Weekly Meal Planning

18 Oct

So it’s been awhile since I’ve even looked at this blog.

A looong while.

Sixty eight days to be exact.

And that sixty eight days is also approximately how long it’s been since school started.

And life got crazy.

But I want to share with you something I’ve been loving lately.

It’s been making my crazy life just a tad bit simpler.

It’s a weekly meal planner!

Basically, I removed the glass from an old frame I wasn’t using, covered the back with a map that I had sitting around, glued some clothes pins on and then added letters from my scrapbook stash…super easy!

I used to stress out about what to make for dinner two or three days out of the week and I was going to the grocery store all. the. time.

Not fun.

Now, I sit down for about thirty minutes to an hour on the weekends to pick out my recipes and then I head to the grocery store to get everything I need. One trip per week!

Another great thing about meal planning?

If I’m ever running late or am busy in the evening, Mr. Torres knows where to find the recipe for what we’re having and all the necessary ingredients are already in the house. Success!

Why have I not been doing this forever?!?!

Kacey! I’ve missed your blog – so glad to have you back! We also have a weekly menu I plan over the weekends, it makes mealtime much easier. But your set up is cuter than mine – I may have to use it for inspiration! Thanks for the great idea!

This project totally made me think of you and all your craftiness! I know I’ve been absent from the blogging world since school started, but I’m hoping that things are finally beginning to slow down:)

Thanks! We went camping with Tyler this weekend and had such a nice time! I’m planning on doing a post on the trip, so you’ll get to see some pictures:)

So you’re saying that if you’re running late, your hubby is able to start dinner without you?? I love my husband, but he doesn’t know a thing about cooking haha. Very impressive!

Well, it’s happened once so far and I was just lucky enough to have planned to make stir-fry that night…something my hubby can handle:) I’m not sure if it will happen ever again, but one can hope!

I’ve been a fan of meal planning for a while (I hate coming home from work and having to figure out what I’m going to make with what I have) and usually try to plan and shop for a couple weeks at a time. Your menu is so much nicer looking than my basic list, though! And I love that you have the recipes available for your husband as needed

So cute! And helpful. I love that you can put a recipe there.
