I have now been in Houston for about three months and my view here has stayed largely the same as it was after the first two weeks.
We are still living with our friend.
I haven’t started looking for a job yet.
We still haven’t found a church.
However, despite several of these things are getting ready to change fairly soon!
We currently have a contract on a house and are scheduled to close on September 4th!
Goodness, it needs some curb appeal help, but who wants to buy a house that doesn’t have a million and one projects that need to be tackled?!?
Apparently not Mr. Torres and I.
I’ll tell more about the house and share more pictures once it is actually ours…one more week!
And although I won’t start looking for a job until we get back from Europe, I have found something to spend a bit of time on…
I joined a soccer team!
Adult soccer is pretty competitive here in Houston and we even have practices and real uniforms.
I am beyond excited for games to start!
I’m still trying to get used to all of the lizards around here.
Their tails kind of look like snakes sometimes, but I’m getting better at not over-reacting when I see one:)
This little guy was in some paperwork that was being filled out during one of our (many) house inspections!
Although it seems to be taking a long time to get settled and connected here in Houston, everything is working out and coming together nicely!
I think my tendency sometimes (read: all the time) is to want things to be perfect right away, but God’s timing has carried us through to this place and this time and I am excited what the next part of our adventure brings!
