Thanksgiving was really wonderful and I was going to share pictures from all the fun we had over the holiday today, BUT I managed to lose my camera and with it all of the Thanksgiving pictures that I took:P
Soooo, instead of Thanksgiving, today’s post is about what’s been going on around here in December!
1. The tree is up!
Can you tell from this picture that it is kind of just in the middle of the dining/living room area?
I guess if you’re going to have a tree, you might as well put it front and center!
2. It was odd decorating the Christmas tree while wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
After I got done with the tree, I went outside and added some new plants and flowers to my garden.
Winter in Houston is weird.
3. Each year, Mr. Torres and I make/buy a new ornament for a tree that celebrates something momentous about the year.
This year’s ornament celebrates our time in Bartlesville:)
4. I’m already working on one of my New Year’s resolutions because I know I’m going to need as much time as I can get!
One of my goals for 2014 is to read every book that I own.
This SEEMS possible because I really don’t own too many books (I’m a library lover) and because I have lots of free time right now:)
So far I have re-read two tremendous books (The Hiding Place and Into Thin Air) and a favorite from when I was younger (The Cay) and read for the first time a really terrible book that I have no idea why I own (Starting Out in the Evening).
If I had to pick one of these books to encourage you to read, it would, hands down, be The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom!
This book should be required reading for all human beings.
5. Bacon-wrapped Gorganzola-stuffed dates are so good.
I have to share a pre-baked picture because we had to eat them after they came out of the oven.
There was no time for pictures!
I’ll share the how-to this upcoming week so that you can make these little babies for the holidays.
You’re going to love ‘em.
